The Los Angeles Clippers have agreed to sign veteran wingman Alan Anderson to a one-year, $1.5 million deal on Tuesday, as Doc Rivers' squad aims to deepen their small forward and shooting guard spots.

Anderson, who was able to play 13 games for the Washington Wizards in the second half of last season, averaging 5.0 points, 2.1 rebounds, and 1.1 assists in only 14.8 minutes a night, is coming off rehabilitation from ankle and groin injuries that had been hampering him in the past two seasons, as per the Los Angeles Times.

At 33-year-old and now a hundred percent healthy, the former Michigan State standout is hoping that he can revive his NBA career with the Clippers in the coming season.

Anderson entered the league in 2005 as an undrafted player for the then Charlotte Bobcats. He played two full seasons for the Bobcats before trying his wares in Europe for the next four years.

He returned to the NBA during the 2011-2012 season after signing a 10-day contract with the Toronto Raptors in March 2012. A month later he was signed by the Raptors to a year-long contract for the following season.

After a successful season in Toronto where he averaged career-highs 10.7 points and 1.6 assists with 2.3 boards per game, he then joined the Brooklyn Nets in the summer of 2013 to spend another two seasons with them until he was sidelined by his injuries.

CSN Mid-Atlantic noted, though, that the length of the veteran's minimum contract handed to Anderson is "uncertain", which means it can be extended or cut short depending on his performance.

Anderson provided toughness and defense for the Wizards during his short stint with the team last season, but he was not able to stay healthy for most of the time, which had led to him being released by the capital city squad this summer.

Washington rumored to have planned Anderson to become their replacement for veteran superstar Paul Pierce, who left for the Clippers at that time. Ironically, Anderson is also leaving DC to join the same team Pierce transferred to last season.

With Anderson's acquisition, the Clippers now have a full 15-man roster that is set to compete in the new season coming this October.
