Fans and followers of Chinese beauty actress Liu Yifei and South Korean actor Rain in China will finally be able to see the much awaited movie "For Love or Money" on November 7, sources said.
The screening date for the highly-anticipated movie was finally announced today and the November 7 schedule is just days ahead of China's "Single's Day" holiday on November 11.
Aside from Liu and Rain, who are the leading actor and actress in the movie, other veteran and famous actors and actress also make up the entire cast, including Wang Xuebing, Andy On and Joan Chen.
The film is an adaptation of the best-selling book by popular Hong Kong author Amy Siu-Haan Cheung.
"For Love or Money" is about a young woman called Xing Lu from a declining aristocratic family, who finds herself caught between two men and hidden secrets.
The film marks Chinese director Gao Xixi's first big screen debut, having directed TV series for decades, most recently "Mao Zedong" in 2010.
Meanwhile, Matt Reeves' Dawn of the Planet of the Apes scored a chest-thumping US $47 million in its opening weekend in China, putting it firmly at the top of the box office rankings in the world's second biggest film market.
Gordon Chan's kung-fu epic The Four 3, which took US $13.34 million in its first full week from 161,554 screenings and 2.27 million admissions was also considered as a strong performance.
The Hong Kong director's film stars Chao Deng, Liu Yifei, Ronald Cheng, Collin Chou and Anthony Wong.
China's movie market is expected to surpass that of the United States in the next few years. Capitalizing on the growing blockbuster market in the mainland, Hollywood producers now incorporate a China theme or include Chinese actors and actresses in their movies.
Experts, however, said it will take years before China can overtake the US$ 10 billion US movie market.
