Fans of the hit TNT TV show "The Librarians" can now count the days to its latest season. TNT will premiere "The Librarians" Season 3 on Nov. 20.
This news announced by TNT at the Television Critics Association summer event, TV Line reported. Aside from returning casts, "The Librarians" Season 3 will also feature new characters, and one of these is General Rockwell, which will be played by Vanessa Williams, Variety has learned.
The general leads the Department of Statistical Anomalies, a top secret government agency that serves as the new antagonist for the latest season of TNT's fantasy drama. D.O.S.A specializes in uncovering anomalous events, and sets its sights on the four Librarians because of their activities.
The same publication added that General Rockwell and D.O.S.A are also interested in finding the Library. The antagonists want to obtain the magical artifacts contained within for their own purposes.
Not a stranger to villainous roles in her career, Williams will appear as General Rockwell in a recurring capacity in "The Librarians" Season 3.
"The Librarians" Season 3 began principal photography in May in Portland, Oregon. Executive producer Dean Devlin has promised a more suspenseful third season for "The Librarians." Devlin also said that the main characters will be facing higher stakes and will be under a lot more pressure than they've dealt with in the past two seasons.
Headlined by Rebecca Romijn, Christian Kane, Lindy Booth, John Kim, and John Larroquette, "The Librarians" is a fantasy series that deals with a group of people who have been appointed to take on an extraordinary mission. Now known as Librarians, they are now tasked to investigate inexplicable mysteries as well as combat threats that are beyond the plane of normal human comprehension.
"The Librarians" aired its pilot season in 2014 and was renewed for a second season in 2015. The first season featured Matt Frewer as Dulaque, the main antagonist and the leader of the Serpent Brotherhood.
The role of main antagonists was taken over by Prospero and Moriarty in the second season, wherein the two characters were played by Richard Cox and David S. Lee, respectively.
