Surviving members of the South Korean pop group Ladies' Code are reeling from the tragic road mishap that claimed the lives of two of their fellow band members.
RiSe, who's Kwon Ri-sae in real life, died Sunday September 7 at 10 in the morning, after sustaining head injuries and being unconscious from a brain surgery for four days. She was 23.
Her death followed that of EunB, who passed away moments after the band's vehicle crashed into a guardrail on their way back to Seoul from a performance in Daegu on September 3.
Sojung, another member of Ladies' Code, remains at the hospital following an operation on her fractured skull.
Ashley and Zuny, also members, have since been released from medical care as they only suffered from minor injuries. The two attended EunB's funeral on September 5, as well as RiSe's funeral on September 9.
Fans blame the band's road manager for the crash, after learning that he was the one driving the van. However, police investigators say they are not sure as to what had occurred during that rainy night since nobody was there to witness the crash, nor were there any CCTV recordings to document the accident.
Authorities have so far divulged that the vehicle's airbags failed to work during the collision, despite the car being driven for the first time that night.
Another report has since come out, claiming that the driver tried to avoid crashing into another vehicle, which is the reason for them colliding into a guardrail.
Ladies' Code fans all over the world, as well as other K-pop fan groups came together as a community on social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter and Tumblr to mourn the stars' death.
They have been campaigning to make the band's single "I'm Fine Thank You" reach the #1 spot on the charts. The fans were successful as the single shot up to the #1 spot, fulfilling EunB's wish to have a song hit the top spot.
