Spoiler alert: MBC's hit fantasy drama series "W" might end with a wedding. Fans who've been faithfully watching the show have come up with a theory that Kang Chul (Lee Jong Suk) and Oh Yeon Joon (Han Hyo Joo) would marry each other by the end of series.
The theory stems from a statement made by the show's producer, in which it was presumed that they foreshadowed Kang and Oh's marriage in the third episode of "W." The foreshadowing was made through a newspaper article that briefly flashed on the screen.
K-pop Herald reported that the article suggested that Kang and Oh are actually a married couple, with a statement particularly translated as, "Oh, who was the prime suspect for Kang's murder accident, turned out to be his wife."
Additionally, the newspaper article read that Oh and Kang met in the U.S. and dated for six months before deciding to settle down.
In the previous episode of "W," Oh was one of the suspects in Kang's murder.
"W" has attracted a legion of fans due to its unique love story and convincing chemistry between its lead star Lee Jong Suk and Han Hyo Joo. The show has featured a lot of kissing scenes from the two stars, and each time they filmed together the production team lauded their performance.
"Though it was the beginning of the filming, they displayed a unique chemistry that resulted in a perfect scene," the production team commented when Lee and Kang locked lips on their first day of filming, allkpop wrote.
Despite an awkward first day at work, both Lee and Kang maintained a professional relationship, and the former now jokes that he has grown immune to kissing his female co-star after having done several kissing scenes.
"W" tells the story Kang Cheol, the rich and charismatic hero of a webtoon who is brought to the real world following the disappearance of Oh Yeon Joo's father, who was the author of the said webtoon.
"It's the story of a man and a woman who discover their reason for existence while living in different dimensions in Seoul in 2016," director Jung Dae Yoon said about the story.
"W" airs every Wednesdays and Thursdays on MBC.
