"The Blacklist" actress Parminder Nagra will join "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D" Season 4 in a yet to be specified role.
Nagra will debut in "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D" Season 4 episode 3 and will be playing a powerful political figure who distrusts "Inhumans," IGN reported. The said character is reportedly an outspoken Anti-Inhuman politician who thinks that "Inhumans" are a threat to society.
The development comes after "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D" Season 3 explored the awakening of "Inhumans" gene after the fallout in Season 2. In Season 4, the show has yet to fully explore the rise of Inhumans within the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
The character will reportedly clash with Garielle Luna's Robbie Reyes a.k.a "Ghost Rider," a character that will introduce the supernatural side to MCU. Nagra also joins Jason O'Mara who will be S.H.I.E.L.D's new director and Lilli Birdsell who might play Lucy Robinson, a minor comic book character in the "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D" comics, Screen Rant reported.
As tensions rise between powered and non-powered individuals, S.H.I.E.L.D will be in pursuit of bringing in vigilates who have powers. One of them will be Chloe Bennet's Daisy Johnson, a.k.a Skye/Quake, who went solo after Season 3.
At this point, it had been established that S.H.I.E.L.D is no longer a shadow organization and is back in the government's good graces following the events of "Captain America: Civil War." The Avengers will unlikely get involved with the Inhumans situation anytime soon since S.H.I.E.L.D will be the organization that will be tasked in handling that.
Before getting booked in "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D," Nagra was a regular in "The Blacklist" as FBI Agent Malik. She also appeared on NBC's "E.R" as Neela Rasgota.
"Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D" Season 4 will return on Sept. 20 on ABC.
