The return of Catherine on "Hawaii Five-0" Season 7 is going to bring a level of confusion to the show's longtime fans. Executive producer Peter Lenkov has weighed-in on the future of the fan favorite couple, hinting that fans should not get their hopes up for a reconciliation.
According to Entertainment Weekly, Lenkov dropped the news that Catherine and McGarrett will not be rekindling their romance on "Hawaii Five-0" Season 7. Catherine's portrayer, Michelle Borth, is set to resurface in the show's 150th milestone episode. But as far as her relationship with McGarrett is concerned, things between them will be strictly casual.
"People are interpreting it like her coming back into the relationship and starting all over again, but I just don't think that can happen after all that these two have gone through," Lenkov told the pubication.
"Her relation to the story is more plot driven than reigniting that relationship."
In other "Hawaii Five-0" news, a behind the scenes footage emerged online showing the recorded explosion of McGarrett's car in a shooting location. The brief clip, shared by Lenkov last week on Instagram, carried the caption "Bye bye McGarrett mobile." With the emergence of this video, it seems that McGarrett will go through another life-jeopardizing arc in Season 7.
