Since its release last month, "Pokemon GO" has not been without its glitches. It appears that a new glitch now enable trainers who hold gyms to avoid being challenged by other trainers.

According to VG247, some trainers within the game are now taking advantage of a glitch involving Pokemon eggs. Kotaku stated that trainers are now leaving Pokemon eggs instead of adult Pokemon in gyms.

The article explained that the glitch lets trainers hold gyms without losing them. This is because Pokemon eggs do not have statistics. This feature prevents other trainers from challenging gym owners and take a shot at owning the gym. Hence, the glitch lets trainers who take advantage of it to own the gyms indefinitely.

Moreover, the glitch also lets gym trainers receive the relevant in-game rewards indefinitely as well. Attack of the Fanboy said that trainers will periodically receive Pokecoins as long as they own a gym. This represents a perk for those who take advantage of this bug in the game.

While it represents an attractive opportunity, VG247 warned gamers not to cash in on the glitch. As Niantic is still cracking down on bugs and unscrupulous players, it could earn them a ban as well.

"Pokemon GO" is a free-to-play mobile game developed by Niantic in partnership with Nintendo. The game is an augmented reality app that lets people catch Pokemon in the real world. Using GPS, a smartphone and an Internet connection, players can zero in on nearby Pokemon in any location and attempt to capture the using Pokeballs. Players can also obtain supplies like incense, candies and Pokeballs in designated locations called PokeStops.

The game has been plagued with various glitches since its release. GPS spoofing has allowed players to play the game even though it is not officially available in their locations. This issue allowed these players to dominate gyms by the time the game has been officially released in their countries.

Players of the game in suburban areas also experience difficulty due to a low number of PokeStops. Forbes attributed this to Niantic's reporting feature. This feature allows users to report PokeStops that are located in dangerous or inaccessible areas. However, the feature has also been abused to facilitate removal of suburban PokeStops.
