All-Filipino girl group 4th Impact performed at the finals night of "The X Factor UK" on Monday, Dec. 14. The group, which is composed of Almira, Celina, Irene and Mylene, sang a mash-up of the song called "Downtown" popularized by Macklemore and Ryan Lewis.
The all-female group has been creating a buzz throughout their journey in the British reality singing competition. Not only that, they were all consistently receiving high praises from the judges, especially Simon Cowell who is known for being a tough one.
4th Impact was able to make it to the Final 5 of the competition. However, they lost to Lauren Murray in an elimination.
At the moment, 4th Impact is trying to attempt breaking records in YouTube. As a matter of fact, their version of Jessie J's "Bang Bang" has already reached 34 million views on the popular video streaming site.
Meanwhile, Louisa Johnson was proclaimed the champion after she got the majority of the votes thrashing Reggie N Bollie. Both artists performed their own rendition of Bob Dylan's "Forever Young."
Despite having been able to capture the hearts of the judges, Louisa said that the song would have worked for her adversary too. "I loved Reggie N Bollie's performance. I will definitely be buying whatever song they bring out," she told BBC Newsbeat. "I would definitely like to work with them as I think they are amazing people as well as artists."
Louisa also divulged to the news outlet that she is not ready and comfortable reading any reports about herself anytime soon. "Don't read anything good or bad, obviously be thankful for the comments," she said when asked about the best advice she received. "But if you read into things it just gets you down. You just need to stay on the same level."
Manila Bulletin shared that Louisa, who is a 17-year old student from Essex, is the youngest champion ever of the "The X Factor UK." Among the guests who performed during the finale were One Direction, Coldplay and Adele, who showed off her new short hair while belting out on stage.
