Ruco Chan and Linda Chung are once again co-stars in "All That is Bitter is Sweet", TVB's newly aired drama.

Chan, who starred with Chung in "Brother's Keeper", dished out details about the new show. For starters, he mentioned that unlike his character in "Brother's Keeper", his character in the new series would never boldly go after love. Instead, he says Ting Yat Yuen, his character, is pretty much somebody without a future, rendering him to be very adaptable to anything. He says Ting Yat Yuen therefore does not prioritize love, and that he in fact avoids it.

Ting Yat Yuen is a roaming salesman who makes his money by transacting with corrupt officials. He and Chung's character, Kai Kei, are against the old Chinese government. His beliefs make Yat Yuen think that it's his duty to help those in need. Ruco said that his character is misunderstood because of this. He said that others see his character as a rebel, but in reality, he's just very future-oriented, so he can see things at a wider scope.

Meanwhile, Kai Kei, a widow, was the recipient of his support during trying times in her life. The two develop a vague relationship. Yat Yuen falls in love with her but doesn't find the courage to tell her. He assumed that since he had a hereditary sickness, it is impossible for them to have a future.

Ruco praised Linda for her work ethic, saying that she is very hard-working and persevering. He saw her struggle over the language used, but he also saw the effort she put in to perfect her takes.

The actors were in fact overworked during filming. Ruco fell ill several times during shooting and had fluid retention that was so bad, people thought he initially had bottom. A physician on set told him that it is due to lack of sleep and fatigue.
