Marvel comics property "Runaways" will reportedly come to Hulu soon.

Streaming service Hulu plans to have it as a serialized show in seasons. Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage will be the showrunners. The TV adaptation of the series had been circulating for the past year with Schwartz and Savage lobbying for its release, Deadline reported.

"I'm a long-time fan of Runaways and couldn't be more excited to bring Brian and Adrian's characters to life," Schwartz said.

Over at Marvel Studios, Marvel TV head Jeph Loeb expressed confidence that the "Runaways" story would make great television at the hands of Schwartz and Savage who also worked in coming-of-age television shows such as "The O.C" and "Gossip Girl" before. In fact, Schwartz had written the original screenplay for "X-Men: First Class" before director Bryan Singer took over.

Marvel Studios originally planned a film adaptation for "Runaways" in 2012 until they had to shelve it to build the Marvel Cinematic Universe around "Avengers." It was supposed to be directed by Peter Sollet off Drew Pearce's screenplay, Screen Rant reported.

The Hulu adaptation will be based on the comic created by Brian K. Vaughan and Adrian Alphona of the same name. The series debuted on 2003 until its cancellation in 2004. However, due to insistent public demand, the series was revived in 2005.

Marvel's "Runaways" is about a group of six teenagers whose foes are their parents. The 6 teens literally ran away from home after they discovered they are spawned by their supervillain parents.
