Video game developer Capybara Games recently announced that the release of its upcoming title "Below" will be delayed. "Below" was originally slated to be released before the end of summer. However, despite Capybara Games' efforts to hit its intended target date, the development team was not able to complete the game in time.
In a statement released by Capybara Games, the company said, "We knew the game was there, and we're super proud of it, but we also knew it needed more time to make sure it lives up to our studio's standards, and the quality that you expect from our games."
According to Digital Trends, Capybara did not announce a new release date for "Below." On the other hand, the company will continue its work on the game's development and will do so under the cover of media silence. Many in the gaming community agree that once a major development will be announced, Capybara will also set a firm launch date for the game.
"Below" is an adventure game presented in a rogue-like top-down fashion where players are tasked to explore randomly generated worlds. Based on initial statement from Capybara, the game will carry a high level of difficulty as it features a permanent-death system along with a very challenging combat mechanics.
"Below" was announced back in E3 2013 and was even revealed that the game has been in long development phase back then. The game was expected to hit the shelves by the end of 2015 but the release date was pushed towards this year.
Back in 2013, "Below" was slated to be an Xbox One exclusive title. Capybara Games later confirmed that the game will be a timed exclusive on consoles, which means that the game will have an exclusive run on consoles before being released on Windows PC platform.
