There’s no stopping now for the TV comeback of South Korean superstars Jun Ji Hyun and Lee Min Ho, as both actors have already started filming for their upcoming TV drama series “Legend of the Blue Sea.”
A production staff of the show revealed in a press statement that Jun and Lee have had their first taping day on Aug. 19 in Goesan, Chungbuk province, Soompi reported. The staff further said that the two actors are set to fly to Palau and Spain in September after their scenes in Goesan are all done.
“Legend of the Blue Sea” is a romance-fantasy drama directed by Jin Hyuk and written by renowned Korean screenwriter Park Ji Eun, who also happens to be the writer of Jun’s hit series “My Love from the Star.” It centers on the love story of a mermaid Shim Chung (Jun) and Heo Joon Jae/ Kim Moo (Lee).
Other cast members of the show include actor Lee Hee Joon, “Oh My Ghostess” star Shin Hye-sun, and veteran actress Na Young-hee. According to Yibada, the participation of Sung Dong Il and Hwang Shin Hye is still underway.
Lee started his career when he starred in the EBS series “Secret Campus”. He later rose to fame when he played remarkable roles in drama series “Boys Over Flower”(2009), “City Hunter”(2011), and “The Heirs” (2013).
Jun, on the other hand, is well known for her portrayals in one of Korea’s highest-grossing Korean comedy films of all time “My Sassy Girl,” “Happy Girl” and “My Love from the Star” with actor Kim Soo Hyun. This year, she won the Best Actress award in the 2016 Max Movie Awards for her role in the film “Assassination.”
“Legend of the Blue Sea” is targeted to be aired on SBS on Nov. 16.
