The youngest member of Korean boyband BIGBANG, Seungri, was involved in a car accident early Friday morning while he was traveling along the North Riverside Expressway in Dongbuichon-dong, Seoul.
According to police reports, Seungri's Porsche rammed into a Benz in front of him, causing his car to roll over and hit a guardrail at 3:34 a.m. on Friday, September 12. The accident happened right in front of Shindongah Apartments, the police added.
Seungri and the three passengers of the Mercedes Benz only sustained minor injuries but they were rushed to a nearby hospital.
The band's managing agency sent out a statement shortly after the accident, expressing relief that Seungri, 23, did not sustain any lief-threatening injuries from the accident. The agency said he will still undergo a full check-up to ensure his safety.
The agency also pointed out that the accident was not brought about by driving under the influence of alcohol.
BIGBANG was at the launch party of NONA9ON, YG Entertainment and Samsung Everland's new apparel brand collaboration before the accident occurred.
The boyband is set to perform at the YG Family 014 Galaxy Tour: Power power in Singapore this weekend, along with their fellow YG artists, PSY, 2NE1, EPIK HIGH and WINNER.
