Harrison Ford will reprise his role as the legendary Indiana Jones in the upcoming film "Indiana Jones 5". His wish to work again with Steven Spielberg and David Koepp was granted.
It's been a while since "Indiana Jones" hit the cinemas. The last movie which is "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of Crystal Skull" was released in 2008. Disney revealed on March 15 that they are working on a new "Indiana Jones" movie and will be released on July 19, 2019. The new movie is not a prequel but a continuation of the "Crystal Skull", according to director and producer Frank Marshall.
It was reported that Ford only agreed to reprise his role as long as the movie will be directed by Steven Spielberg and that the script will be written by David Koepp. The renowned director confirms that he will not let the hero die in the story.
"We're all trying to figure out when the right time is to step back in. Harrison really wants to do it; Steven really wants to do it. We've kicked around a couple of story ideas, but beyond that, I don't know yet," said the franchise veteran, Kathleen Kennedy.
Meanwhile, Heather Antos, Assistant Editor on Marvel and Lucasfilm's Star Wars line of comics, accidentally hints of writing about "Indiana Jones" for comics. She made it clear that Marvel has no plans to have "Indiana Jones" comics. Fans were just mistaken and misunderstood her post on the social media, as reported by ComicBook.
"Indiana Jones" movies are influential as well. According to the Duffer brothers, Matt and Ross, their film "Stranger Things" will get its concept from the 1984's and they chose "Temple of Doom", NME reported.
"Indiana Jones 5" will be a reunion for Ford, Spielberg, and Koepp. As of the moment, there are no details on when the production will start. But one thing is for sure, "Indiana Jones" will come back with more exciting adventures.
