HTC will soon roll out Android 7.0 Nougat for the HTC 10 on the last quarter of 2016, after which, One M9 and One A9 will soon follow.

The unlocked version of the HTC 10, One M9 and One A9 will be among the first variants of handsets of HTC to receive Android Nougat. Those who own other variants will have to wait longer, Tech Times reported. The tentative update release for non-unlocked variants is on June 2017.
The reason for this is because the software update will need to be tested and approved by network operators before it is officially released to the network subscribers. The update release to carriers also differ in arrival dates.
The Taiwan-based smartphone maker made the announcement via a Twitter post that its unlocked HTC 10 variants alongside One M9, One A9 will soon join the Nexus 6P and Nexus 5x in sporting the latest Google operating system. Google Nexus smartphones (Nexus 6P, Nexus 5x, Nexus 6, Nexus 9, Nexus Player and Google Pixel C) were the first to get the latest Android OS contradicting LG's announcement that its upcoming V20 will the first one to sport Nougat, Phone Arena reported.
As for future HTC lineups, its upcoming HTC Sailfish and HTC Marlin will reportedly come with Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box.
Android Nougat brings new features and improvement to smartphones. After the update, users are expected to have better notification panel, easier app switching, and most notably, the standard split screen app ability and better battery consumption.
