Malaysian-born actress Michelle Yeoh revealed that amidst a frightful experience in Nepal last year, she re-assessed her life and was convinced she wanted to marry longtime partner and FIA Chief Jean Todt.
According to Malay Mail Online, Yeoh, who was in Nepal in April 2015 when a major earthquake struck, took to heart her relationship with Todt with whom she was stranded when the natural disaster unfolded in the South Asian nation, famed for its tallest point on earth - Mount Everest.
Yeoh said, while being stranded during the 8.1 magnitude quake, the sound of collapsing buildings and innocent people screaming made her feel scared. "The Lady" hit maker said it was her partner's voice urging her to seek safety that helped her work through her fear.
She said it was at that moment, when she was close to losing hers life that she realized how important Todt was in her own.
While no dates have been set, Yeoh said a wedding for the couple is on the cards for 2016. The actress said a formal announcement of the day will be made when a decision is reached and there will not be any secret wedding plans till then.
Meanwhile, the "Memoirs Of A Geisha" star recently discussed her latest role in the sequel to her classic film, "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon." Yeoh told a gathering in Beijing recently that that she waited many years to reprise her role for the sequel.
The latest installment titled, "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon: Sword of Destiny," is a supernatural martial arts film and will center around the protection of a legendary sword, Yahoo Movies reported.
Other cast members include Donnie Yen of "Ip Man" fame and "The Monkey King" as "Silent Wolf," Harry Shum Jr., known for the character of Mike Chang in "Glee," along with Jason Scott Lee are set to star in the film.
While the first movie was filmed in Mandarin, the sequel is in English and will be dubbed into Mandarin for its release in China.
The newest installment will hit theaters in China on Feb. 8 and those in the United States will be able to catch the movie on Feb. 26 on Netflix and in selected theaters.
