Chris Bosh prepares to return to court with Miami Heat this season. He intensifies his workout in order to join Heat training camp next month.
Bosh posted a series of his workout videos on Instagram Monday as reported by ESPN. He said that he is ready to continue his career after doctor force him to retire because of blood clots.
"I know I've been gone for a moment, but now I'm back. Everybody is always asking me, 'Am I hooping?' Yes, I'm hooping. Absolutely. I'm a hooper," Bosh said in a video posted in his Instagram account.
The 32-year-old center has played for Miami since 2010. He brought back back-to-back championship for Miami Heat in 2012 and 2013 with LeBron James and Dwyane James, which were nicknamed "the Big Three." He is the only one left in Miami after both James and Wade left.
In 2014, Bosh signed a five-year contract extension with Miami. However after 2015 All-Star Game, doctors found a blood clots in his lung and suggested him to undergo treatment. Following the treatment, he returned to the court, but again a blood clot in his leg forced him to miss the entire 2015-2016 season.
NBA league rules stated that if Bosh is unable to play for one full year, an independent doctor can review Bosh's health and determine whether his career is over. Following the doctor's review that determine the end of his career, as reported by CBS Sport, his salary would come off the books for Miami. The same thing will also happen if Bosh retire on his own accord.
Both options are not acceptable to either Bosh or Miami Heat. Coach Erik Spoelstra need Bosh to lead the team. With a 6'11" height, Bosh has an excellent speed and athleticism as power forward and center. He is also remarkable to drive in the rim and posses great jump shot, which is exceptional for a player of his size.
Prior to his absent, Bosh was a leading scorer for Heat. If the doctor gives a clearance for him to be back on court, this gives coach Erik Spoelstra a lighter burden in his shoulder for the upcoming season.
