Danny and McGarrett are forced to spend their weekend together and deal with their partnership problems. According to the Spoiler TV's description of "Hawaii Five-0" Season 6 Episode 11, McGarrett and Danny together attend couples retreat in Maui. It is said that McGarrett mistakenly enrolled them for couples' therapy.
Drama ensues when the two partners are forced to stick together for the entire weekend in a place filled with couples. A promo video for "Hawaii Five 0" Season 6 as obtained by TV Line teases the events of "Kuleana," which translates to "One's Personal Sense of Responsibility" in Hawaiian.
It gives a glimpse of what happens when Steve and Danny arrive at the Maui and that they have actually enlisted themselves for a couples' therapy sessions or relationship workshop that also involves a session on "overcoming sexual incompatibility."
In an interview with TV Guide, "Hawaii Five-0" showrunner Peter Lenkov talked about Steve and McGarrett's couples' retreat session. "They had to do a certain amount of hours a year, and McGarrett had the great idea of doing it all at once over a weekend. But he didn't realize that he had actually booked a couples therapy retreat," Lenkov said.
Lenkov assures that this will have a positive outcome. Meanwhile, he reveals that the two partners will spend a "lot of time together in an intimate setting." It is said that they might not have resolved their issues but they do discuss their differences.
The co-creator teases some "weighty moments" in Episode 11 of "Hawaii Five-0." Meanwhile, in the absence of Danny and McGarrett, someone at the state police task force will have to take the lead. Synopsis and the promo does not indicate what's in store for Chin Ho Kelly (Daniel Dae Kim). However, fans can expect to see him as the story moves forward.
Elsewhere, the midseason premiere digs deeper into Kamekona's storyline. It is reported that Kamekona had a dangerous past and elements of it resurface in the present. "We're going to see a lot of his past and what led him to being the guy that we know today," Lenkov said.
