"Final Fantasy XV" developer Hajime Tabata explained that players will not be bored on the first half of the chapters in the open-world as the rest of the game tightens. He also clarified that they made a way for players to advance through "Final Fantasy XV" chapters like the usual conventional ways from previous "Final Fantasy" games.
The next installment in the "Final Fantasy" franchise, is reportedly coming out with 15 chapters to its storyline according to game director Tabata. The game chapters are expected to be released in half, allowing players to have the freedom to explore the land on its first half, The Verge reported.
"Final Fantasy XV" entire game structure consists of open-world and linear parts. The first half of the story, according to Tabata, will keep going as an open-world. The second half, on the other hand, will lead the players to the linear path.
Tabata also discussed that players will need to allot 40 to 50 hours in order to finish the first half of "Final Fantasy XV." The same amount of time may also be required for players to complete the main route of the second half.
The second half of the game is expected to have different routes based on how Tabata described its linear storyline. However, not much information has been detailed regarding the map of "Final Fantasy XV." There are also no specific details revealed as to how the storyline of the game will progress.
Meanwhile, Tabata previously revealed that it is not likely for the team behind "Final Fantasy" to develop a sequel for "Final Fantasy XV" like what they did to "Final Fantasy XIII." He said that they have no plans of continuing the story after the game comes out. However, he also said that there might be a possibility for them to do a sequel if the company sees it fit, Geek reported.
"Final Fantasy XV" is reportedly scheduled to launch on Nov. 29. The game is expected to be released for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 platforms. Meanwhile, watch the "Final Fantasy XV: Reclaim Your Throne" trailer here.
