Hopes of a possible remastered "Mass Effect" trilogy have been quelled as Electronics Arts Executive Peter Moore decided not to pursue that direction. The video game company is said to focus on working on future titles instead.

According to Gamespot, Moore mentioned that the company would rather look to the future in developing new titles. To further give evidence to this, Electronic Arts is currently focusing on developing and polishing the latest title in their hit sci-fi series, "Mass Effect Andromeda."

Moore told IGN that he was also asked previously about joining in the remastering trend. He answered that it is not in the company's interest to do those, rather focusing "on delivering new IP, new experiences, [and] more and more live services." The EA Executive also mentioned that he currently does not have "teams lying around doing nothing" for the moment to focus on remasters.

It is all about moving "forward" with EA, according to Moore. Even if it is about making an "easy buck" and thousands of fans requesting it, the company would rather focus giving something new to the players to enjoy. He also mentioned earlier that remasters are "like pushing stuff because [they have] run out of ideas."

Meanwhile, after keeping quiet for awhile on "Mass Effect Andromeda," EA is said to release the latest title for the next-gen consoles Xbox Scorpio and PlayStation 4 Neo, according to Mobile & Apps. Moore expressed his enthusiasm about the consoles, commending their capabilities to run 4k renders.

Electronic Arts was confirmed to have been working hard for content compatible for Xbox Scorpio and PS4. It is possible that Moore is hinting that the latest "Mass Effect" game may be released along with the next-gen consoles.

This may suggest a possible delay of the game's release as well since Xbox Scorpio will be launched around Holiday next year. PS4 Neo's release has not been discussed yet since Sony has planned a PlayStation Meeting on Sep. 7, next week.

In the meantime, EA vice executive president Patrick Soderlund has reassured fans that "Mass Effect Andromeda" is still in good progress. That being said, fans may see a gameplay demo possibly around November.
