"Kingsman: The Secret Service" actor Colin Firth said that many expectations about the return of his character is off the mark.
Firth plays the role of Harry Hart, a Secret Service agent who went to mentor Eggsy (Taron Egerton) in the first film. While the actor is not allowed to divulge much about his return to the franchise, he said that much of the speculations about his characters are wrong, Collider reported.
"I can't give too much away about in what capacity I'm back. A lot of people have speculated and a lot of people have come to the wrong conclusions about it. I want to keep the surprise alive, a little longer. I think they're going to be surprised again," he said.
He also went to say that "Kingsman: The Golden Circle" will not be a conventional sequel. He teased that the upcoming film could very well stand-alone from the first instalment.
Not much about the plot has been revealed but it has been confirmed that the film introduce the American counterpart of the Kingsman organization known as the Statesman, Screen Rant reported. Egerton and Mark Strong will both be back to reprise their respective roles as Eggsy Unwin and Merlin.
Apart from old-timers, "The Golden Circle" also has an impressive arsenal of actors that have joined the ensemble including Jeff Bridges, Julian Moore, Vinnie Jones, Pedro Pascal, Channing Tatum, Halle Berry and Elton John.
For the uninitiated, "Kingsman" is based on the comic book "The Secret Service by Mark Millar
"Kingsman: The Golden Circle" is slated for release on June 16, 2017.
