Disney has finally unveiled a sneak-peak of two fan-favorite characters in the live action re-make of "Beauty and the Beast." The concept art released two versions of Mrs. Potts and her son Chip, to be voiced by Emma Thompson and Nathan Mack respectively.
Emma Thompson will be stepping into the role that Angela Landsbury once voiced in the classic version of Disney's "Beauty and the Beast." She will be voicing Mrs. Potts, and will be joined by Nathan Mack who will voice the tiny teacup, Chip. Comic Book revealed two concept-arts that displays two different versions of Mrs. Potts.
The first version of Mrs. Potts revealed a rounder shaped faced, emblazoned on a pretty metal teapot. The second version shows a more realistic looking face making the character appear more distinct and ornate. But compared to the classic version of "Beauty and the Beast," the concept-art shows Mrs. Potts face on the side of the pot rather than making the spout as her nose. Chip, on the other hand, resembles the classic version as his nose is the teacup's handle.
Meanwhile, Disney also released a video snippet of the live-action re-make of "Beauty and the Beast," featuring Emma Watson and Dan Steven's character in the cast's table read. Collider reported that Director Bill Condon also shared about how excited he was about Disney's decision to create a live-action version of the classic film. In addition to that, he also talked about how the technology today has progressed, to the point that it made Disney's dream come true.
The live-action remake of "Beauty and the Beast" is slated for release on March 17, 2017.
