On Jan. 6, 2016, the network Mnet made the official announcement about the series' renewal, according to Sports Donga. Meanwhile, Kpopstarz notes that the rap survival series is in pre-production stage and it is expected to begin with auditions in early February.
"Show Me the Money" Season 4 was surrounded by several controversies. However, the show did give the world some brilliant rappers. Loco won Season 1 and Soul Dive gained prominence after winning Season 2. Bobby of iKon from Team Illionaire along with his producers Dok2 and The Quiett was declared champion in Season 3. As for Season 4, several Season 3 contestants returned while Basick was crowned as the winner. Some of them were underground rappers even before they joined the show.
