Taiwanese actor Kai Ko's career was affected by drug use last month. Due to the negative image, his advertisements have been off-shelves, and some of his advertisers raise claims for over 10 Million CNY, reported Yule.com Wednesday.
After the drug case, he has lost the incomes of more than 30,000 million CYN from six advertisements and five movies. Nineteen advertisements he represented have been off-shelves, and one third of the advertisers asked for compensation. There is a rumor that among those advertisements the ads compensation of men products and snacks reach 10 Million CNY.
Some advertisers require receiving full return of the representation fee while some do not need pay compensation because contracts are about to expire or have expired. However, if another one third undecided advertisers ask for compensation, Ko, who was rated No. 97 in this year's Forbes' list of Chinese celebrities with the income of 13 Million CNY, will be in debt.
Ko's agent, Angie Chai revealed that the company would bear the loss with Ko together. Ko's urinalysis tested in Taipei showed negative for drugs. However, he will force to give up drug if he could not pass the hair examination.
It is said that the Chinese film censors office thought the apology of Ko has achieved the effect of preventing taking drugs, so he is a good model that his new movies will not be force out. However, his new movie, The Continent, will delay the release date in Taiwan.
