Anne Hathaway wants to reprise her role in the DC Universe for a Catwoman spinoff movie. She took the role as Selina Kyle in Christopher Nolan's "The Dark Knight Rises" back in 2012.
According to Variety, Hathaway said in an interview at the Variety Studio at the 2016 Toronto International Film Festival that she would love to do the character Catwoman again. She admitted that it may be a difficult task.
Hathaway revealed that she loved the character Catwoman and had such a blast playing it. She is not sure how it would work. She thinks that the Christopher Nolan chapter of the Batman story has been wrapped up. She knows that she is part of that. She admitted that she loves the DC Universe and would be delighted to come back.
Hathaway was also asked whether she is possessive of the famous cat burglar Catwoman. She thinks that she is not. She explains further that the role goes with the territory when accepted and received from the last Catwoman. She was shown such generosity from the previous Catwoman actresses Halle Berry and Michelle Pfeiffer. She is eager to do the same generosity to the next Catwoman if ever.
The new vision of the DC Cinematic Universe with the Batman standalone movie on the horizon has branched off into several new areas. There may be options that Hathaway might play again as Catwoman since the role was a part of Nolan's "Dark Knight" trilogy.
Hathaway recently presented her upcoming sci-fi action-thriller "Colossal" at the 2016 Toronto International Film Festival event, as Vulture reported. In her latest movie, she played a heartbroken woman who is psychically linked to a Kaiju-esque creature tearing through South Korea.
Hathaway is expected to do on-camera role with Rihanna. She will next appear in an all-female spin-off "Ocean's Eight" from the popular 2001 "Ocean's Eleven" reboot. "American Story" star Sarah Paulson is reportedly in talks to join the all-female cast.
