Hollywood star Tom Hanks seemingly cannot stop gushing about his "Inferno" co-star Irrfan Khan these days. The iconic star has claimed recently that he is just "beguiled" by the Indian actor.

"I'm just beguiled by his magic eyes. He has a physicality to him that is so specific and endearing," said the 59-year-old actor  about Khan at Sony's press event in Cancun, Mexico, NDTV Movies reported.

Hanks further revealed that he has some very huge "six or seven scenes" with the "Slumdog Millionaire" star wherein the latter had "only had one line to say."

Although Hanks was yet to shoot his scenes with Khan at the time of the press event, he still was all praise for the Indian star.

Other reports stated that after his recent national hit, "Piku," Khan immediately headed to Budapest to shoot for "Inferno" where he was greeted by none other than the "Forrest Gump" star himself. Reports stated that Hanks welcomed him with a special request that he wants to shoot more scenes with the Indian actor.

Khan, who arrived for the shoot in June, was greeted by a handwritten message by Hanks on a postcard with a signature.

"This will be most pleasant movie to make, I think, provided you and I have a few more scenes together! If not, we will just have to save the world as is," read the message.

Hanks and Khan will be seen together for the first time in director Ron Howard's big screen adaptation of Dan Brown's "Inferno." While the Hollywood star is returning as symbologist Robert Langdon, the 48-year-old Indian star will play the role of the Harry Sims or the Provost, the head of a mysterious organisation, the Consortium. The movie also stars British actress Felicity Jones, Ben Foster, Omar Sy and Sidsey Babett Knudsen, DNA reported.

"Inferno" is set to hit theatres on Oct. 14, 2016. While Hanks and Howard have previously worked together on "The Da Vinci Code"  as well as Brown's "Angels and Demons," this will be Khan's first movie with the director who was otherwise earlier seen in several other Hollywood movies like "Namesake," "A Mighty Heart," "Life Of Pi," and recently-released "Jurassic World."
