'Game of Thrones' Season 7 news & update: Euron & Cersei to form an alliance in Season 7? 'Harry Potter' actor Jim Broadbent joins cast

When "Game of Thrones" returns, fans will see an unlikely alliance brewing between Euron Greyjoy and Cersei Lannister. In other developments, Harry Potter actor Jim Broadbent has booked a guest starring spot in the new season.

There's a new force building up between Cersei Lannister and Euron Greyjoy on "Game of Thrones." According to Watchers on the Wall, filming reports from Belfast have spurred rumors that the duo will form an unlikely alliance when the HBO smash returns for Season 7. The site is also reporting that the latter will kill atleast one of the Sand Snakes.

"It looks like a big year is in the works for Euron- we hear that he and Queen Cersei are teaming up in season 7," the site wrote.

HBO and co-showrunners DB Weiss and David Benioff have yet to comment on these latest updates.

Meanwhile, for the show's casting news, Entertainment Weekly has learned that "Game of Thrones" has added "Harry Potter" actor Jim Broadbent to its Season 7 cast. Details on the actor's role are still under wraps, but they are describing his character to play a "significant" part in the new installments.

In addition to his remarkable role on the "Harry Potter" series, Broadbent is also known for his past works on "Time Bandits," "Brazil" and "Bridget Jones's Diary." He was nominated for an Emmy for his titular role on Longford and has won an Oscar the 2001 film, Iris.

"Game of Thrones" stars Maisie Williams, Lena Headey, Sophie Turner, and Kit Harrington among others. Season 7 is slated to premiere sometime in 2017.
