South Korean newbie girl group BLACK PINK appears to be having a good start in the industry after being named as the “New Artist You Need To Know” for the month of September by the renowned American popular culture magazine Rolling Stone.

The magazine described the group’s music to be a blend of K-pop and A-town trap. It added that the group is “on the verge of breaking with a unique fusion of bubble gum pop and hard-hitting hip-hop”.

“I still can’t believe it. Finally achieving our dream of debuting after waiting for so long, I felt a bit empty. Now we [BLACKPINK] have even more dreams to fill that emptiness. We’ve achieved the first step by debuting, and we’re going to accomplish bigger goals soon,” BLACKPINK Jisoo said as quoted by Soompi.

Aside from BLACKPINK, other international artists and groups were also included in the magazine’s list for this month. This includes Noname, Survive, Young M.A., Mija, Sarah Potenza, Dua Lipa, Serpentwithfeet and Pure Disgust.

Meanwhile, after making their debut this August, BLACKPINK is set to come back with two singles this October, All Kpop reported. This announcement was revealed by the group’s talent management agency YG Entertainment on Sept. 15.

"Black Pink has already filmed a new MV which has yet to be revealed, and during the September 15 and 16 Chuseok holiday, they will be filming one more MV," a representative by YG stated as quoted by All Kpop.

BLACKPINK is composed of four members namely Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé and Lisa. The band debuted with two singles, "Boombayah" and "Whistle."
