Known for playing the title role in "Dr. Ken," Ken Jeong, 46, is one of the voice actors of the upcoming 3D computer-animated adventure comedy film "Norm of the North," which is set to hit theaters on Jan. 15, Friday. The South Korean-American actor will voice Mr. Greene.
Jeong is not the only voice actor of "Norm of the North" who is of Asian descent. The lead character in the animated film, a polar bear named Norm, is voiced by Adam Sandler's "The Ridiculous 6" co-actor Rob Schneider, 52, who is of Jewish and Filipino descent.
Written by Daniel Altiere, Steven Altiere and Malcolm T. Goldman, "Norm of the North" also marks Trevor Wall's directorial debut. It is distributed by Lionsgate and is produced by Assemblage Entertainment and Splash Entertainment.
The "Norm of the North" story revolves around Norm and his three lemming friends who wind up in New York City after being displaced from their Arctic home. Schneider and Jeong's fellow voice actors in the animated film are Heather Graham, Bill Nighy, Colm Meaney, Loretta Devine, Michael McElhatton, Maya Kay, Gabriel Iglesias, Salome Jens, Charles Adler, G.K. Bowes, Debi Derryberry, Ben Diskin, Keith Ferguson and Dan Gordon, among others.
"Norm of the North" is not the only film to be released on Jan. 15, Friday, with Jeong as part of the cast. On the same date, "Ride Along 2" will also hit theaters.
Directed by Tim Story, "Ride Along 2" stars Jeong with Sherri Shepherd, Tika Sumpter Benjamin Bratt, Olivia Munn, Bruce McGill and Michael Rose, among others. The lead stars are Ice Cube and Kevin Hart, who both appeared on the episode of "The Bachelor" Season 20 that aired on Jan. 11, Monday.
After "Norm of the North" and "Ride Along 2," Jeong is set to star in the comedy film titled "Killing Hasselhoff." The "Dr. Ken" actor will star with "Love Yourself" singer Justin Bieber, who was recently spotted in Beverly Hills with his rumored girlfriend Hailey Baldwin, Perez Hilton reported.
"Killing Hasselhoff" is directed by Darrent Grant and written by Peter Hoare. Jeong and Bieber's co-stars include Irina Voronina, Colton Dunn, Rebecca Olejniczak, Hulk Hogan, Carlos PenaVega and David Hasselhoff, whose new music show at Barclaycard Arena was recently cancelled, Birmingham Mail reported.
