Denzel Washington is back for more action packed thriller in "The Equalizer 2." Although the movie will be pushed back from the original release of the sequel, the same director and writer that made the movie successful are also back.

"The Equalizer" is one of the biggest action films of 2014. Even though it starred Washington, it was considered a sleeper hit because of its enormous success compared to its budget. The film only cost $55 million but it gained $192 in worldwide box office. Because of the success, the sequel is obviously in the works.

Unfortunately, fans have to wait a little bit longer for the sequel. Initially, the sequel is set for 2017 release. But according to Collider, shooting for the sequel starts late 2017 which means the movie will be released in 2018. The script is already done but the Academy Award winner still needs to work for another film in 2017 before shooting the anticipated sequel.

The film's director, Antoine Fuqua, has worked with Washington before "The Equalizer." Another great film of Washington was "Training Day" which was also directed by Antoine Fuqua. The actor and director also recently collaborated in the remake of "The Magnificent Seven."

"The Equalizer 2" is just one of the many films of the great artist. However, this movie is particularly special because even though he has made a lot of films, Slash Film reported that his is the first sequel for the critically acclaimed actor.

Even though the script is already done, the plot and the details of the film are still unknown. However, the film's producer Todd Black revealed that the movie is being considered for IMAX release.

The upcoming sequel is highly anticipated because of its simple premise but with impressive fight scenes. Washington's portrayal of an ordinary guy but with dangerous skills and background makes for an impressive action film.

While the plot, story and film's release is not yet known, check out the super cut of  the film's first fight scene in "The Equalizer" as it perfectly shows how the film became one of the sleeper hit of 2014.
