Telugu superstar Allu Arjun is all set to enter into Tamil film industry with director Linguswamy's next project.
The "Sarrainodu" star on Thursday announced that he would soon make his Kollywood debut. Arjun added that he will be teaming up with well known Tamil director Linguswamy for his first Tamil movie.
"I have waited almost 10 years for a good script in Tamil. Though I have heard several narrations from many filmmakers, it was Lingusamy's script that suited both Tamil and Telugu, and fascinated me. I thought this would be the right launchpad for me here," Arjun told reporters in Chennai, as cited by Deccan Chronicle. Arjun's untitled Tamil Telugu project will go on floors in February 2017. Chennai-based Green Studio will produce it.
Tamil actress Keerthy Suresh, who was last seen in Dhanush starrer "Thodari", will play female lead in the movie opposite Arjun. It will be first time Suresh and Arjun will be seen together on screen. "Keerthy Suresh is being paired with Arjun. The makers had several heroines under consideration; however, due to Keerthy's popularity in Tamil as well as Telugu industries, she was eventually signed on," a source told Indo Asian News Agency (IANS) news wire.
The 33-year-old Telugu superstar, who was last seen in superhit "Sarrainodu", is currently busy shooting for "Duvvada Jagannadham" (DJ). The Harish Shankar directed movie will feature "Mohenjo Daro" actress Pooja Hegde in female lead. The movie also marks return of Arjun and Shankar after a gap of seven years. It is slated to release in the summer of next year.
