"One Tree Hill" alumna Hilarie Burton will appear on "Lethal Weapon," a new cop drama series airing on FOX this fall.
According to TV Line, Burton will guest star on "Lethal Weapon" as DEA (Drug Enforcement Agency) investigator Karen Palmer, a tough and smart woman who is not afraid to speak her mind. Set to appear in at least one episode, Burton's character will surface as the team investigates the same case which she had worked on for three years.
Burton's recent TV credits include "White Collar," "Grey's Anatomy," "Extant" and "Togetherness." She was known for playing Peyton Sawyer on teen drama, "One Tree Hill" which ran for six seasons on the CW.
"Lethal Weapon" is a rebooted TV series version of the hit movie franchise which follows cop duo Riggs and Murtaugh. Together, they work on a crime-ridden beat in modern-day Los Angeles. The series stars Clayne Rawford as Martin Riggs, Damons Wayans Sr. as Roger Murtaugh, Jordana Brewster as Maureen Cahill, Keesha Sharp as Trish Murtaugh and Kevin Rahm as Captain Brooks.
On this week's episode of "Lethal Weapon," Riggs and Murtaugh will work on a case involving a house party gone wrong. According to the official plot synopsis released by FOX, the Sept. 28th installment will also feature the guest appearance of rapper/actor Jason Derulo as a heavyweight boxer.
"Riggs and Murtaugh respond to a noise complaint at a party at heavyweight boxer Ronald Dawson's Hollywood hills home. When gunshots go off, they are drawn into a major case involving illegal gun runners with advanced military technology," the synopsis read.
"Lethal Weapon" airs every Wednesday at 8PM on FOX.
