The "Minecraft" convention, or MineCon, that went on in California, has just announced big updates for the game. These updates include new crafting options and a Chinese Mythology pack for the consoles.

The first update to be mentioned is the version 1.11 update for the PCs and Macs, which features new items and creatures in the game, as stated by Slash Gear. For the cutesy side, "Minecraft" version 1.11 will have players enjoy llamas, the camel-like mules in South America. And like camels (or mules), they do spit a lot, but this time on the enemies for once.

The enemies, on the other hand, will include the menacing Vexes, winged imp-like creatures and a new mob called Illagers, which have dangerous magical capabilities and the capacity to summon the impish creatures.

The PC and Mac version of "Minecraft" will be having "The Exploration Update." This will allow players to purchase maps from cartographers to areas like the Ocean Monuments and Woodland Mansions from cartographers. Players will have an easier time finding treasure with these than getting lost.

In relation to these updates, Mojang reported that the Xbox One and Wii U versions of "Minecraft" will have "The Chinese Mythology Mash-up" pack, where players can get to experience the wonders and mysteries of the Far East. The pack will include 41 new skins and 13 themed music tracks. A map will also be available for "Minecraft's" Battle mini-game, which will feature ancient cities full of dragons.

Adding to the update for the consoles are the new mobs that include polar bears, a new beetroot plant, that can be crafted to a nutritious soup, new terrain generation that includes igloos in the arctice biomes and fossils underground, as well as new village paths and materials, new banners, and seven new building blocks.

The update for "Minecraft" for the PC and Mac will arrive on Wednesday (Sept. 28), whereas their Xbox One and Wii U (only for the US) counterparts will get its release on Oct. 4, with other console versions to follow a day after.
