Golden State Warriors shows how the team formula is working extremely well. In the first preseason game the Warriors annihilate LA Clippers 120-75.
Golden State Warriors shows its devastating offensive force from both outside and inside during preseason game in homecourt, the Oracle Arena on Tuesday Oct. 4. The Splash Brothers Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson provided a barrage of artillery from the backcourt, while Kevin Durant and Draymond Green attack the rim. LA Clippers experience first hand the overwhelming force of the Warriors with the 53 points loss.
Thompson made six three-pointers and led the scorers list with 30 points. Durant showed an amazing diverse skills with 21 points, seven rebounds, seven assists and two blocks. While Curry made 14 points five rebounds, three steals and five assists, including the opening assist to Durant for a three-pointer.
Normally, NBA team would play easy on the preseason game as the players are still re-adjusting each other. But Golden State Warriors did not hold back, according to CBS Sports. The Warriors made another record as the first team to send a powerful message in the first game, after the became the first team who lost the series after leading 3-1 in the last year's NBA Finals.
Although the game is only a preseason game, but Warriors showed they have consolidated their teamwork very well, and Durant has also fully integrated into the team. However, according to USA Today, while the Warriors look dominant in the preseason, one can never jump to conclusions for the regular season.
After the game Curry expressed his satisfaction to the game, but he also admitted there are things to work on for the time to become better. As the regular season is a nine-months journey which cannot be measured in just one single game.
"We still have things we know we need to work on. Just staying focused, staying in the moment," Curry said. "Enjoying what we did tonight but knowing we've got 100-plus more games to get this thing done."
