Halloween is just around the corner and it's no surprise that online games will catch up with the hype by setting the theme for said event. Blizzard's "Overwatch" is no exception as its next seasonal event called Halloween Terror said to be released today.
Based on the game's description from the trailer, the character Junkrat dressed in a Dr. Frankenstein manner narrates the next seasonal event as follows:
"When the shadows grow long and the nights grow cold...
And witches' cauldrons bubble with potions untold...
When spirits and ghouls and abominations appear...
It can mean only one thing: Halloween is here!"
This could only mean the event would include myriads of Halloween-themed goodies. According to IGN, the seasonal event is said to run for three weeks until Nov. 1. The in-game loot boxes are to be replaced visually with the traditional Halloween-themed Jack-O'-Lanterns. The content from the even consist of over 100 new cosmetics including: profile icons, sprays, victory poses, emotes, highlight intros, and skins.
Siliconera also mentions that the seasonal event also includes first-ever co-op PVE brawl in "Overwatch" called "Junkenstein's Revenge." Here in this special mode, players take the roles of Ana, McCree, Hanzo, and Soldier 76 to defend Adlersbrunn castle from waves of horrifying robots accompanied by Reaper, Roadhog, and Mercy in their Halloween-themed costumes, along with Junkrat as the titular Dr. Junkenstein.
The event also allows players to roam the streets of the horror version of the Hollywood map.
Halloween Terror event for "Overwatch" is live now on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
