Preview

Charlotte has only one win so far in the preseason and it was during their most recent game held at the Time Warner Cable Arena on Oct. 10 against the Minnesota Timberwolves.

The Hornets pounced the Wolves, 98-86, despite 30 points from Minnesota shooting guard Zach LaVine.

Hornets head coach Steve Clifford's boys faced the best five of the Wolves, namely LaVine, Ricky Rubio, Gorgui Deng, Karl-Anthony Towns, and Andrew Wiggins, but the team still managed to pull off the victory as the Hornets also featured their starting unit of Kemba Walker, Nicolas Batum, Marvin Williams, Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, and Roy Hibbert.

Three of the starters scored in double figures with Walker, Batum, and Williams firing 15, 13, and 11 points respectively. Williams also had seven rebounds while Kidd-Gilchrist and Hibbert had six and four boards.

Spencer Hawes was a beast off the boards with 11 rebounds in 25 minutes off the bench. Substitutes Frank Kaminsky and Jeremy Lamb provided fire power with 17 and 16 points respectively as backups.

Meanwhile, the Bulls have won three straight games after opening the preseason on a two-game losing skid.

In their most recent game, a second meeting with Milwaukee in the preseason, Chicago pulled off a lopsided 107-86 win even as head coach Fred Hoiberg's starters were rested during the game.

Absent were Dwyane Wade, Jimmy Butler, Rajon, Rondo, Taj Gibson, and Robin Lopez as Bobby Portis, Cristiano Felicio, Paul Zipser, Jerian Grant, and Isaiah Canaan filled in as the starting lineup.

Canaan had an excellent performance, scoring 25 points on 8-for-13 field goal shooting. He also grabbed five rebounds and dished off four assists in 38 minutes as the starting point guard.

Small forward Doug McDermott led the bench with 22 points and five boards while Nikola Mirotic had 14 points and five rebounds as well.

Prediction

The prediction is another big victory for the Bulls as the Hornets continue with their struggles at least in the preseason.
