Hollywood star Jack Black is seemingly smitten by his "Kung Fu Panda 3" co-star Jackie Chan's long and successful career. Black was speaking at the premiere of "Kung Fu Panda 3" held at the TCL Chinese Theatre on Jan. 16, Saturday in Hollywood, California, when he declared that he is very curious to meet the Asian star in person.
Surprisingly, despite starring in the three "Kung Fu Panda" movies with the Asian star, Black is yet to meet him. They admitedly recorded their voices differently which were later put together by the film's unit.
"If we ever do meet, I will have many questions for Jackie! First, I'd ask him why did he steal my name? And then I'd ask him, What is his secret to his long, long career," said the "Goosebump" star at the event, Just Jared reported.
Black further added that he would also like to ask about Chan's breakfast routine.
The movie's Hollywood premiere was also attended by many other Hollywood bigwigs, including Kate Hudson, Lucy Liu and Angelina Jolie. While Liu made a solo appearance, both Hudson and Jolie were accompanied by their respective kids.
Jolie's kids, 12-year-old Pax, 11-year-old Zahara, nine-year-old Shiloh and seven-year-old twins, Vivienne and Knox, who have also lent their voices in the movie, walked the red carpet along with their star mom while her husband, Brad Pitt, 52, and their eldest child, 14-year-old Maddox, were not in attendance. Jolie was dressed up in a little black dress and was joined by Pax, Knox and Zahara in similar attire while Shiloh opted for a white T-shirt paired with a grey vest, adding a necklace on top, Daily Mail reported.
Jolie, who voices the character, Tigress, in "Kung Fu Panda 3," has previously voiced the character for the first two installments of the series, in 2008 and in 2011.
"Kung Fu Panda 3" is set to release on Jan.29. The DreamWorks Animation production is expected to kick up some strong business both domestically and internationally, particularly in China, where a concurrently produced Mandarin version will be released, with speech animation that accommodates the different nuances of Asian voice actors.
The movie is one of the most highly-anticipated film of the year that is expected to become a pleasing addition to Oscar-nominated franchise.
