Preview
Los Angeles snapped the three-game winning run that opened their season on Wednesday when the team fell to the Oklahoma City Thunder, 85-83, at the Staples Center, as per Daily Mail Online. The Clippers had a bad offensive night as the team shot 39.1 percent from the field, but they managed to keep the game close with their defense.
Chris Paul led the squad with an almost triple-double performance of 15 points, 11 rebounds, nine assists, and six steals. He shot a dismal 4-for-11 from the field and five turnovers, three of which came in the crucial moments of the fourth quarter.
Blake Griffin was the only other starter in double figures with 14 points, nine boards, and five assists while DeAndre Jordan contributed eight points, six rebounds, and three blocked shots.
"The most frustrating part for me (is) the turnovers especially," Paul said. "My job is to orchestrate the offense, and I had some terrible turnovers down the stretch."
Griffin is averaging 20.0 points and 10.8 rebounds while Paul produces 18.8 points and 7.8 assists per game this season so far. The Clippers are 5-5 in their last 10 road games, indicating that they can be deadly when playing away games.
Meanwhile, the Grizzlies are 3-0 at home so far this season as both of their losses came on the road. Their last match ended in an 89-83 overtime victory over the winless New Orleans Pelicans also at the FedExForum on Wednesday, via SB Nation.
Mike Conley and Marc Gasol are playing full minutes right now as they are 100 percent healed from their injuries in the offseason.
Conley led the team with 20 points and three assists while Gasol was a monster inside the paint with eight points, 11 boards, six assists, and three blocks. Starting power forward JaMychal Green top scored with 21 markers and six rebounds.
Zach Randolph came off the bench to contribute 10 points and 11 boards in just 20 minutes of action.
Prediction
The Clippers are playing without confidence and with low morale at the moment, especially Griffin who shot 7-for-21 against the Thunder. They are facing a tough home team in Memphis as the Grizzlies have won four of their last five home games. The Grizzlies are predicted to win a tough one in this meeting.
