Recently, EXO-CBX sub-unit group appeared as guest on KBS2's "Yoo Hee Yeol's Sketchbook," where the group discussed how the unit was established. Both a talk show and a live music show, "Yoo Hee Yeol's Sketchbook" is hosted by Yoo Hee Yeol, who is popularly known as Toy.
During the episode, Toy asked how the unit was established. Chen then replied, "The three of us click well together. One day, we thought it would be really fun for the three of us to make a unit and promote, so we proposed it to the company," Soompi reported.
Former H.O.T. member Kangta, who is also on the show, disclosed that he was so proud of Chen, Baekhyun, and Xiumin. Hoping that the group can give more suggestions, unit promotions, and activities to show their fans in the future. Xiumin then unveils that Kangta is like a light to them.
The group then discussed their role models who prompt them to become singers. First to answer was Xiumin, picking TVXQ, next was Baekhyun choosing Super Junior, and lastly, Chen, who alone chose Kangta making the audience bursts into laughter.
Talking about how EXO-CBX unit was formed, the three shared that it was not the agency who organizes the formation of the unit. Allkpop reported that the members themselves created the group since they like spending time with each other.
The three also share the same chemistry in their private lives, prompting them to actually suggest the formation of the unit to the agency. EXO-CBX also revealed that their goal for this promotion is to be love by male fans.
Speculations on the formation of the sub-unit arose after the three released "For You," an original soundtrack for the SBS's recent hit drama "Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo." Following the confirmation of S.M. Entertainment on early October, the group then released their debut EP "Hey Mama!" containing five tracks with a variety of genres on Oct. 31.
