Reasons why movies have been pushed back are varied. Some due to production difficulties, while others have a perfectly good reason. "Fast and Furious" actor Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson could attest to this when he referred to the upcoming reboot "Jumanji."

The "Jumanji" reboot is now set for a Christmas 2017 release

According to the former WWE star's Instagram page, the reimagining of "Jumanji" has been pushed back to Christmas 2017. "Jumanji" was initially set to hit theaters during the summer, on July 28, 2017, and will now be shifted on Dec. 22, 2017.

"We were always slated to be released summer of 2017," said actor Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson. "But after months of shooting and editing our movie together, we realized we have a big family franchise on our hands, that's full of Christmas wish fulfillment, fun, and heart."

"Jumanji" will be facing off against other films; "The Dark Tower" film taking the July release spot.

As Variety stated, the reimagining of "Jumanji" has been delayed along with other upcoming promising films like Sony's "The Dark Tower." The film based on Stephen King's novel will be moving from its February 2017 release slot to "Jumanji's" old July slot.

In relation to that, "Jumanji" will be now facing off against other movies like "Pitch Perfect 3," the animated pic "Ferdinand," and another reboot, "The Six Billion Dollar Man."

Actor Dwayne Johnson emphasizes love for entertaining during the Holidays

The former WWE star (the world's highest paid actor) Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson also expressed his love and desire for "delivering holiday entertainment." This also refers his acting involvement as the Polynesian demigod Maui in upcoming Disney animated film "Moana," which is set for release on Nov. 23.

Other than Johnson, "Jumanji" also stars Jack Black, Karen Gillan, and Kevin Hart.
