Just when we thought the "Young Justice" storyline was forever lost in production limbo, Warner Bros. Animation has given us a sigh of relief and announce that a third season is coming soon.
According to ComicBook.com, the reveal dates are about to be revealed later, including when the new episodes will air and a premiere date, according to Warner Bros. Animation. But so far we've only heard that Season 3's production is now beginning already, promising to deliver "new twists, turns and dangerous new threats for the team, but most importantly, the opportunity for fans to finally continue the adventures of some of their favorite Super Heroes."
Sam Register, President of Warner Bros. Animation and Warner Digital Series, mentioned in a statement: "The affection that fans have had for Young Justice, and their rallying cry for more episodes, has always resonated with us. We are excited to bring the show back for this loyal fanbase and to provide an opportunity for new viewers to discover this excellent series."
IGN states that we will be seeing original "Young Justice" producers Brandon Vietti ("Batman: Under the Red Hood," "Superman: Doomsday") and Greg Weisman ("Star Wars Rebels," "Gargoyles," "The Spectacular Spider-Man") producing the new episodes of Season 3.
Justice's" Season 1 and 2 ran from 2011 until 2013 on Cartoon Network, with the first season focusing on Robin, Superboy, Aqualad, Artemis, Kid Flash and Miss Martian. Even with the positive reception the show has gained, the show was unfortunately cancelled due to disappointing sales for tie-in "Young Justice" toys, which was a major factor for the series. Now, because of consistent positive reception it keeps having from fans on Netflix, Weisman has heard the fan's sentiments and will begin production on "Young Justice Season 3" already.
Just to give a glimpse of what "Young Justice" is all about to the newcomers, here's an official synopsis of the show, thanks to Warner Bros. Animation:
"In Young Justice, the teenage Super Heroes of the DC Universe come of age in a world of super powers, Super-Villains and super secrets. Used strategically as the secret covert weapon of the Justice League, Nightwing, Robin, Aqualad, Kid Flash, Superboy, Miss Martian and a host of others strive to prove to their legendary mentors, as well as to themselves, that they have what it takes to be heroes."
