"Jurassic World 2" is already on the way and they've been getting casting members already in the next epic dinosaur film. The latest addition in the lineup of actors for Universal Pictures' sequel are Rafe Spall ("Prometheus," "Hot Fuzz") and Toby Jones ("Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy," "Captain America: The First Avenger").
According to Variety, along with Christ Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard reprising their roles from the previous film, actors Rafe Spall and Toby Jones will be joining in the crew for the well-beloved dinosaur film. Although, it still hasn't been confirmed on what the roles of the actors will be in the sequel.
Spall starred in several well-known films, including "Prometheus," "Life of Pi" and "The Big Short," while Jones starred as Dr. Arnim Zola in the first two "Captain America" movies, and also took the role of Claudius Templesmith in "The Hunger Games" movies.
Collider reported that "Jurassic World" was served as a "rebootquel" since the film reinvented the franchise while acknowledging the previous movies. Howard played as Claire Dearing, the operations manager of "Jurassic World," while Chris Pratt played former Navy vet and expert on velociraptors, Owen Grady. The two had to team up despite their difference in order to thwart the crazed genetically modified dinosaur called the Indominus Rex that started to run amok and causing chaos and destruction.
Colin Trevorrow was supposed to direct and co-write "Jurassic World 2," but since he was committed to work on "Star Wars Episode IX," the job will now fall on J.A. Bayona (who directed "The Impossible" and "The Orphanage" as well as the upcoming "A Monster Calls"). Trevorrow also mentioned that "Jurassic World 2" will be will be "more suspenseful and scary" in Bayona's hands.
What that means exactly is what we'll find out once "Jurassic World 2" releases on June 22, 2018.
