The much anticipated "Fifty Shades Darker" has been given an R rating by the MPAA for its strong erotic sexual content, nudity, and explicit language. Looks like the sequel for "Fifty Shades of Grey" managed to dodge the NC-17 rating.

Dakota Johnson will reprise her role as Anastasia Steel and Jamie Dornan as Christian Grey, E! Online reported. Other artists who will be in the movie include Kim Basinger, Rita Ora, Elena Lincoln, Robin Lee, Hugh Dancy, Luke Grimes, Marcia Gay Harden, Eric Johnson, and Bella Heathcote. Fans are now very excited expecting to see what they want from the movie.

It now has the same rating with its prequel; only "Fifty Shades of Grey" was tagged by MPAA as having unusual behavior, Cosmopolitan reported. It seems like the new movie might take it down a notch, especially from the Red Room scenes. Some fans were quite concerned that the film might be less intense than its predecessor. The new movie might tone it down a notch, but it's not slowing down and its obvious with its R rating.

The sequel will continue the story of innocent Ana Steel and sociopath Christian Grey. But now, Grey's ex-girlfriends, played by Bella Heathcote and Kim Basinger, will be causing some trouble.

The movie will still be produced by Dana Brunetti, Michael De Luca, and the book's author E.L. James. James Foley will replace Sam Taylor-Wood as the film's director. The screenplay will be written by E.L. James' husband, Niall Leonard. The movie's trailer debuted early September, and fans can't be more excited with all the steamy sex scenes teased in some of the clips. It is also filled with masquerade and fireworks. The new trailer now has Miguel singing "Crazy in Love." Last time it was the Grammy winner Beyonce herself singing her song for the "Fifty Shades of Grey" trailer.

The movie will still continue the franchise's Valentines weekend tradition by releasing it on Feb 10, 2017, just a few days before Valentine's Day. It is expected to be one of the biggest blockbuster next year. It is expected to rake in big money with its prequel gaining a total of $570 million worldwide.
