Preview
Dallas has lost two straight games after going on a two-game winning run to bounce back from the five-game losing streak that opened their season.
Their last match was a 93-77 loss to the New York Knicks on the road at the Madison Square Garden on Monday, as per CBS Local DFW.
Dirk Nowitzki was still sidelined by his Achilles injury while Deron Williams was rested by head coach Rick Carlisle during the match.
Harrison Barnes led the Mavs with 20 points and four rebounds while starting point guard JJ Barea had 17 points and four assists. They are the only two Dallas players to score in double figures during the match as the team shot a collective 38.6 percent from the field including a dismal 5-for-28 stint from the three-point area.
The Knicks' defense limited them to only 77 points in the entire game, which is the lowest the team had scored so far in the season.
Dallas led 39-36 at the half before New York unleashed a 31-12 run in the entire third quarter to leave behind the visitors.
Meanwhile, the Celtics have lost four of their last six games to drop to an even .500 slate, enough to settle at the eighth spot in the East.
Boston dropped a heartbreaking 106-105 loss to the lowly New Orleans Pelicans on Monday at the Smoothie King Center to snap their two-game winning run, the Boston Herald reported.
Isaiah Thomas had a big game to lead the Celtics in a losing effort, scoring 37 points on 13-for-29 field goal shooting. He also had three rebounds and seven assists.
Avery Bradley netted 19 points and grabbed a team-high 10 rebounds while Marcus Smart, who also started in head coach Brad Stevens' three-guard lineup, chipped in 15 points, six boards, three assists, and four steals.
Prediction
Dallas has lost five of its six away matches this season while Boston won three of their four home games so far. With the Mavericks current struggles and a depleted starting lineup, the Celtics are favored to win this game.
