Preview
Detroit is currently on a downward spiral as the team is on a two-game losing skid. They have also lost three of their last four games to drop to .500.
The Pistons were defeated by the Phoenix Suns, 107-100, in their most recent game on Wednesday held on the road at the Talking Stick Resort Arena, as per the Detroit Free Press.
Shooting guard Kentavious Caldwell-Pope led the team with 27 points and six rebounds, shooting 9-for-22 from the field, which included a 5-for-10 stint from the three-point line.
Andre Drummond had a monster double-double of 18 points and 14 boards with four assists, one steal, and one block. Marcus Morris chipped in 16 points, three rebounds, two assists, and two steals as the third starter in double figures.
Starting point guard Reggie Jackson is still out but had already resumed basketball activities on Monday which means he could be back soon. Ish Smith, who continues to fill-in for Jackson, had nine points, three rebounds, seven assists, four steals, and two blocks in a decent all-around effort.
Off the bench, power forward Jon Leuer contributed 11 points and nine boards.
Meanwhile, San Antonio is similarly reeling with Detroit as the Spurs have also lost three of their last four matches and are on a two-game losing slide as well.
In their last game, the Spurs were nipped by the Houston Rockets, 101-99, at their home court of AT&T Center on Wednesday, ABC News reported.
Kawhi Leonard's 34 points, seven rebounds, and two blocks were not enough as San Antonio came up short against the Rockets.
LaMarcus Aldridge was the only other starter in double figures with 14 points. He also had five boards, two assists, two steals, and one shot block. David Lee fired 10 points and grabbed four rebounds in only 16 minutes coming off the bench.
Patty Mills continues to fill-in for the injured Tony Parker, who suffered a knee injury during the team's season-opening win over the Golden State Warriors. The Frenchman has not played since them, but head coach Gregg Popovich said that he could suit up in this game versus the Pistons.
Prediction
Detroit lost five of their last seven road matches while San Antonio lost three consecutive home games. Both are struggling right now, but if Parker could play the advantage is on the Spurs. A close home win for Popovich and his crew is predicted.
