When 2NE1's contract with YG Entertainment expired back in April 2016, 2ne1's youngest member, Minzy decided not to renew her contract with the company. As per Soompi, Minzy has been with YG Entertainment for 11 years prior to her exit. Although this left the group's fans heartbroken, the young singer-dancer promises to make a comeback soon with a better version of her.
Since Minzy's departure, one can't help but wonder as to what this young singer-dance has been up to. Minzy has been pretty much everywhere after her leave in 2NE1. She has been dropping hints as a solo artist, by posting through Instagram last week of a sneak peak of the progress of her work in the music studio.
Aside from that, Minzy has also been busy working hard on promoting a new documentary film called Obedience, Koreaboo reports. The film is about the Ugandan Village, where people are recovering from the aftermath of the Ugandan Civil War. The "Princess Hours" actress Kim Eun-Hye stars in the film as the missionary that cared for the children whose parents are victims of the massacre. Minzy was recently seen all smiles at the VIP Premiere of the documentary film.
Moreover, there has been a report that 2NE1 fans have been asking for Park Bom to return, for the girl group to finally make a comeback. With Minzy leaving the group, and Park Bom's drug scandal, 2NE1 has been on an indefinite hiatus. The remaining members have been busy focusing on their individual projects.
Meanwhile, Dara has focusing on her acting career, and working as a judge in the Philippines for ABS-CBN's "Pinoy Boyband Superstar." 2NE1's leader, CL, is currently engaged in all sorts of activities in the US, working hard to break through the US mainstream music. With all of these, chances of a comeback from the group are slim. All hope is not yet lost, however, as Park Bom has gone to Instagram and it seems the star is taking baby steps as she slowly returns to the spotlight.
