Not even technical problems can stop BLACKPINK from giving their best on stage during the 2016 Asia Artist Awards held on Nov. 16.
Allkpop reported, BLACKPINK members Jennie and Lisa performed "WHISTLE" and "Playing With Fire" with defective microphones; however, the two K-pop idols showed their professionalism and continued to give their all while performing at the 2016 Asia Artist Awards.
The incident infuriated the fans of BLACKPINK, given that the 2016 Asia Artist Awards is the first big awards event performance of the rising girl group.
"BLACKPINK looked really disturbed during their first song. Never easy for singers when the mic don't work properly. Since they are rookies it must have been pretty stressful," a fan wrote.
Some fans even claimed the stage of the awards event was allegedly slippery, causing more outrage towards the people behind the 2016 Asia Artist Awards. "I noticed in fan cams that Lisa couldn't dance all out because the stage is quite slippery. I saw her feet almost slipped," a fan claimed.
On the other hand, aside from having their first big awards event performance, BLACKPINK also made their first appearance on variety shows. On the Nov. 16 episode of "Weekly Idol," the four-member girl group showed not only their talents, but also their hilarious side.
Soompi cited BLACKPINK was even challenged to execute the "Random Play Dance" of "Weekly Idol. And despite being a rookie on variety show appearances, the girl group gracefully handled the emcees' teasing.
The girls performed the acapella versions of "WHISTLE" and "STAY," wherein they have proven how good they are in harmonizing despite making mistakes due to nervousness.
