Actor writer producer Corey Sligh was charged and conclusively arrested for child molestation in his hometown of Canton, Georgia on Oct. 14. He was released on the same day, however, with a bond of $22,000.
Although without clear evidences, Sligh allegedly molested a child aged under 10 at that time, as confirmed by PEOPLE with Lieutenant Jay Baker from the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office. The child's parents reported the acts of lasciviousness on Sept. 24, but according to a police report, the claimed molestation transpired between the months of April and September, or during spring. Lieut. Baker also articulated that Sligh knew the victim and it is uncertain if the act was done not only once.
The 29-year-old actor denies the allegation and tells TMZ that he is innocent and he shall fight this until the truth prevails. There was no confirmation, however, if he entered a plea, and his lawyer could not be contacted then.
In other news, Sligh bore a savage attack in 2014 as he and his girlfriend, Alisa Berhorst, were heading to a Los Angeles Rite Aid store on Thanksgiving Day. According to Berhorst, they came across an over speeding vehicle in the parking lot and subsequently told them to slow down. The driver hit the couple with his car and two men got out to attack Sligh.
The actor suffered multiple injuries including a broken arm which needed surgery. He underwent recovery at the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.
Sligh took a recurring role in 2014 as a bartender and waiter on the CBS soap opera "The Young And The Restless", and made a brief appearance on 2008 movie "God's Not Dead" as an extra. He also created and starred on the web series "All About Lizzie" in 2012 while he served as executive producer on the tv movie "Single Shelley" in 2013.
