A woman who worked in a massage parlor reported that actor Uhm Tae-woong had sexually assaulted her. She already filed complaint, and police has begun the investigation. In response to the allegation, the actor's agency, Key East Entertainment, made an official statement, denying the claims.
In the official statement, as quoted by Allkpop, Key East also promised to cooperate with police investigation.
"The accuser's sexual assault allegations are false," the agency's statement said. "If the police request his attendance, Uhm Tae Woong will faithfully partake in the investigation. We implore you to refrain from making speculations about this one-sided claim until the correct investigation results are out."
According to complaint, the accuser is a woman in her 30's that claimed Uhm had assaulted her in January at the massage parlour where she worked. "Our shop does not offer sex. I was sexually assaulted by a male entertainer," she said in the complaint.
Previously, according to Korea Times, the woman had been taken into court custody on fraud charges. She was arrested since July 12 and filed complaints against Uhm three days later.
The accuser was reported to be the sole perpetrator of fraud case in several cities in Korea. She made 33 million won ($29,000) from this fraud.
